Right Intention – Dharma Talk by David Sudar (7-14-2020)

Details:

Originally given on 7/14/2020 at the Path of Sincerity Tuesday night Sangha, by David Sudar.

Description:

In Buddhist psychology, every action, thought and word is preceded by an intention, whether we are aware of it or not.  In turn, the Buddha placed incredible emphasis on developing a skillful relationship with our intentions, as much noticing the ones that are already there, as actively steering future intentions in a wise direction.

This talk will explore the three types of “right intention,” the difference between thoughts and intentions, the relationship between intentions and “right view,” and of course, how all this connects to the rest of the Noble Eightfold Path and the four Noble Truths.
