These talks look at the intersection of Buddhism/meditation and shame. The series will explore shame from different angles, including loving-kindness, deep insight, the perceptual roots, and how the Buddha curiously talked about shame in a positive way.
The basic message is that we can shift our conditioning, going from a place where shame is an oppressive force that causes a lot of suffering, to one where it’s a pointer into deeper alignment and integrity that doesn’t cut us down as a person.
Notes on the Recordings:
You can access the set of recordings on Soundcloud, or via the player below — if you place your mouse on the three visible tracks, you can scroll to see all of them, not just the first few.
All of these talks were originally recorded during the Daily Morning Sangha.
If you want a bonus talk for the series, listen to “How I Learned to Love Myself” next.
