In this talk, we’re continuing a series on the Seven Factors of Awakening and will explore “dhamma vicaya,” which roughly means “meditative investigation,” and points at qualities of curiosity and wise attention.
Dhamma vicaya is one of the specialties of my teacher, U Tejaniya, and I’m excited to share his approach to a balanced yet precise investigation. This is one of the essential tools for the development of wisdom, and contrary to popular opinion which suggests meditation is about stopping thinking, this quality teaches us how to use “thinking” skilfully in meditation, as a way to develop insight & awakening.
